Pro Sports Philanthropy helps athletes use their leverage to achieve their philanthropic vision
through their words, their contributions, and their endorsements.
As the Pro Sports Philanthropy logo implies, for many athletes, their career began with a simple
game of catch. Before they became athletes, someone in their family or their community threw
them the ball and got them involved. This basic give and take exchange is symbolic of the sports
philanthropy concept. At one point, someone helped each athlete get their start by passing them
the ball. Now, given their position of prominence, visibility and leverage, it is the athletes' turn to
pass back to the community; to return favor.
Pro Sports Philanthropy believes that athletes' charitable works are a reinvestment of the support
they received early in life. This continuous and infinite cycle will serve to uplift our communities;
breaking the cycles of poverty, illiteracy, disease, oppression and neglect.
